The Seine Scene April 2026 Newsletter

We think spring is here, although the snow on the ground this morning has us a bit confused. As we sort things out, we’re ready to “spring” the April 2026 edition of The Seine Scene! Many thanks to SRTA Public Relations chair Ashley McKague for assembling another fantastic edition of our newsletter.

This time around, our president Jonathan summarizes his I Love to Read tour of schools during February, and he reminds members about worker and employer rights in the context of workplace safety and health. We provide a look back at last week’s Michael Slobodian Memorial SRSD Staff Volleyball event and formally announce this year’s Colleen Kachur Reico Memorial SRTA Golf event. We have updates on MTS Labour School, working groups and committees, the MTS Workload survey, and two special events — Growing Community Together and Our Voices, Our Canvas.

We continue to be impressed by the variety of articles from our members who were funded by the SRTA PD Fund for professional development opportunities from January through April. Twelve members contributed their feedback on events and university courses in Manitoba, and also on out-of-area conferences.
