Thanks to the tireless work of SRTA Public Relations chair Ashley McKague, we are happy to provide you with some quality reading material as we head into the summer of 2026. The June 2026 edition of The Seine Scene is full of great news and fantastic pictures from events!
SRTA president Jonathan Waite starts off the contributions from the SRTA Executive with a message for members and a number of well-deserved thanks. We showcase SRTA involvement in Pride events in Manitoba, and we salute the 73 golfers who took part in this year’s Colleen Kachur Reico Memorial golf event. We send a fond farewell to our retiring members and recognize the four talented graduates who received an SRTA Education Bursary this year. SRTA Indigenous Education chair Chantelle Desorcy shares parts of her amazing newsletter As The River Flows, and we introduce you to the 2026-2027 SRTA Executive team. Karen Smit, the SRTA Professional Development chair, provides updates on the SRTA PD Fund which is set to open on September 8 for University Coursework applications and September 15 for all other categories.
As always, our issue is stocked full with articles from our members who have accessed the SRTA PD Fund in the latter months of this school year. There are seventeen articles this time around, with contributions from twenty SRTA members, and we thoroughly enjoy their perspectives on the professional learning they were able to access through the fund.
