SRTA Newsletter March 2018

Heading into the final week of school before Spring Break, most members are finalizing the mental checklist of things to do while away from the classroom.  We hope that you add ‘read the March 2018 SRTA Newsletter’ to that list, because it’s one of our most informative issues ever!  Over the course of twenty-four pages, this edition includes important information regarding recent provincial announcements, pensions, collective bargaining, the SRTA PD fund, and workplace safety and health.  Our hard working executive members also provide information about filing personal taxes and women caregiving and work in Canada.  If that wasn’t enough, there is a two-page Q&A section filled with important details regarding the Collective Agreement, employee benefits, working conditions, and more.

Along with a number of great articles by SRTA members detailing their experiences at various PD events inside and outside of Manitoba, we have also included a lot of information from the Manitoba Teachers’ Society, and in particular, details about a regional meeting set for April 2, 2018 at CSNC.  We owe a debt of gratitude to SRTA Public Relations Chair Sandy Turcotte for compiling and sorting through this avalanche of information.

The digital version of the newsletter can be found on our Scribd page or by clicking on the image of the newsletter in this post. A print copy will be delivered to all schools and workplaces via the divisional courier.
